There really isn't much to say about this game, as Cambridge drew another blank and slipped further into the relegation zone. This was a game with very few incidents or excitement. It's just as well that Lincoln as a city is a really good day out.

So this was the third trip in a week to the Abbey, as Cambridge took on Lincoln City. Last season, this fixture was one of the worst home games with Cambridge going down 5-1. Conversely the fixture away at Sincil Bank saw the Us win 1-0 with a last minute goal from Joe Ironside. It was Ironside who put the Imps under the cosh again. Ironside scored on 24 minutes and 27 minutes and it was a comfortable victory for Cambridge. A lot more comfortable than the Burton game. Despite only having 37% of possession and two shots on target, this felt like a really comfortable win.

Saturday saw us go on a proper away day on the train and back to Lincoln, which was a bit of a convoluted journey, but fuelled by Estrella and Elvis Juice. The fans, locals and club workers at Lincoln seemed friendly enough, but the policing was a bit over the top. The game itself was entertaining enough, The first half was pretty much all Lincoln and Mitov in particularly did well to keep them out. It was 0-0 at the break though and Cambridge were still in it.  The second half saw Cambridge come out all firing and they were much the better side in the second half. However, it looked like they were about to draw yet another blank until stoppage time when Joey ironside followed up on his own rebounded shot to head home and send the Cambridge fans home happy. One thing that I would really like to see, but I am not sure if many Cambridge fans would agree with me, would be to see Harvey Knibbs start ahead of Sam Smith in the next game at home to Crewe. This was a massive improvem...

Well, this was a disaster for Cambridge. After recording fine and surprising wins against Burton and Bolton in recent weeks the Us would have gone into this game with some confidence especially as Lincoln had not been in particularly good form. One criticism that I have had of Cambridge is that they have full backs who don't especially want to be full backs and seem more comfortable attacking than defending. The first 3 goas were definitely down to this and at 3-0 down with less than 25 minutes on the clock it was always going to be a big ask. Hakeeb Adelakun scored with less than a minute played and this set the tone for the afternoon. Conor McGrandles added to the scoring after a quarter of an hour and Anthony Scully made it 3 on 24. 3 attacks, 3 goals and 3 times a full back was out of position. It was just a surprise it was still only 3-0 at halftime.  Cambridge came out swinging in the second half, and you felt that with a lot of luck they might get something. However, t...
