This was Enfield's las home game in Bishop Stortford before they move to a groundshare with Hertford next season, after gaining promotion to the Isthmian North last season, they managed to stay up this one. However, they were helped by the demise of East Thurrock and  the poor results of a very young Stowmarket team who provided the opposition today. The first half was fairly miserable with the best chances falling to Stowmarket who hit the woodwork twice. In all senses though it really did have a feel of an end of season game where both teams would be glad to get it over and done with. However, whatever the Enfield players were told at halftime seemed to have the desired effect. Robert Clark opened the scoring for the Es on the 53rd minute and from then on Enfield didn't look back. It looked like a good performance to me, although some of the Stowmarket fans seemed to think that it was a case of heads dropping as soon as they went a goal down. Either way, on the hour mark subs

 There was quite a bit riding on this match, with Cambridge needing a point to stay up and Derby needing a win to at least stay in the driving seat for promotion, if not guarantee it (they needed Peterborough and Bolton to lose to secure promotion today - and that didn't happen). Cambridge started off the game pretty defensively (keeping in mid they needed a point). However, this was probably their downfall. A too defensive set up gave the pacey players of Derby space to run in. Cambridge had a few chances of their own, but the best chances of the first half fell to the visitors. Mendez -Laing after hitting that bar early on finally got his goal when Louie Sibley found an inch perfect pass for him to run onto and score in 39th minute. The second half was a very different matter. In the first half Cambridge had been trying to run the clock down and Derby had been attacking with some urgency.  So, I moved into Downham at 2 and was down the football by 3. I had seen some good games down here on the odd occasions that I have been here over the season, but this wasn't really one of them. Downham have a cup final coming up and neither team has much at stake as we come towards the end of the season. Downham were probably the better team in the second half, but neither team fashioned any convincing chances before halftime.  Downham came out in the second half with more attempt and took the lead through Artur Visocanskis early in the half. However, they were undone by 2 goals in quick succession by Asa McGeachy and Nathan Russell.

 Ely City carried on their recent good form on Friday night by beating Sheringham 2-1. This was definitely my last game with Ely as my local team though! The last time that the teams met Ely were beaten easily by the visitors and this time they came into the game confident that they would repeat the feet. Their confidence must have grown after just 3 minutes when the Ely defence was split open and Harry Sutton, son of Chris, in goals for Ely and making his home debut was beaten. However, unlike after a number of times in the past Ely rallied and Jack Friend hammered in a thunderous shot that beat the keeper to give Ely an equaliser. At the break it seemed like a fair result, as both teams had had their chances and Ely may have been the slightly better of it after the first few minutes where they were too slow getting out of the blocks.  This may go down as one of the biggest comebacks that I have ever been present at. It's just a pity that King's Lynn were on the receiving end of it. King's Lynn came quickly out of the blocks with Bartosz Cybulski firing the Linnets into a two goal lead before Scarborough had a chance to settle. Jonny Margetts then added a third from the spot to give the Linnets a 3-0 lead after only 20 minutes. The rest of the half was similarly one sided with Scarborough rarely venturing out of their own half. However, whatever the Scarborough coach said to his team at halftime definitely seemed to do the trick. The second half started with Margetts coming close but after three minutes, it was Kole Hall who fired one back for the visitors. After this it was a very different second half with the Seadogs in the ascendancy.
